04 Nov Linda&Mitchell. Foggy Winter Te Mata Peak Elopement
When out of all the epic wedding locations in New Zealand Linda and Mitchell picked Te Mata Peak for their elopement, we couldn’t have been more excited. Te Mata Peak in Hawkes Bay is a dream location to shoot for any wedding photographer and it’s been on our wish list for some time. We did some scouting a day before, picked all the photo spots and just couldn’t wait till next morning. If you know a little bit about the area, Hawkes Bay has a reputation of the sunniest region in New Zealand. But that day ever sunny Hawkes Bay decided to surprise them with something unusual. We woke up to rain and stormy wind, Te Mata was completely covered by a massive cloud just like a veil put on for the special occasion. We drove up right into the whiteout, and walked to a grassy spot embracing wild wind. It was hard to hold back tears as these two stood there in the white mist saying their vows to each other. What an absolute joy to capture these amazing moments.
